I noticed this late. I'm a big fan of Dan's bolt thrower and love the moon reverse, but only recently noticed that it was issued with two different reverses. I also like how the moon reverse has "Moonlight Mint" spelled out.

    Moon: 36
    Amero: 59

Actually, the "Moon" reverse Bolt Thrower had a mintage of 55. The Amero reverse 59.
The Moon reverse was part of a set of nine different obverse designs, which were available separately as well.
There are only 36 possible sets of the Moon reverse because a couple of the other pieces in the set had a mintage of 36.
Final mintages for both are listed in the first two sections here:

I prefer the top one, but the standing eagle is pretty cool too.

    Nice items, Dan.

I thought "Daniel Carr Bolt Thrower" was something to throw AT you, by the people who didn't like your 1964 Peace Dollar overstrikes image

Saw the thread title and thought of something threaded with a hex head........

    Thanks,
I have "thick skin" (metaphorically), but I still wouldn't want bolts (hex head or otherwise) thrown at me.

The design message is basically throwing lightning bolts back at the gods in defiance, by way of man's development of technology and industry.
Here is the bronze plaque version:
