Coin shops in Boston

csdotcsdot Posts: 705 ✭✭✭✭
I will be in Boston next week to visit colleges with the kids. Are there any recommended coin shops in the area? Thanks.

    J.J. Teaparty

Beantown Coins to name a few. I know that that these two have internet sales, and may have B&M sales as well...give 'em a call and see.

Looks like 46 stores according to yellowpages.com

Coin Dealers Supplies - Boston, MA

Seems like you cannot swing a long tailed cat without hitting one of 'em.

JJTeaparty gave up their shop a few years ago. No longer a storefront there.

There was another coinshop just down the street from them (I forget the name).

There are also some coinshops within a short driving distance. Depends on if you want to drive or are just doing local transit and such.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

A bunch of us will be in Baltimore for the show, so you may find slim pickings depending on the day.

Boston did have some nice coin shops years ago....been many years since I have been in Boston.

But given that it is a large metropolitan area, I am sure there are still some good shops there.

    Cheers, RickO

Rare Coins of NH in Milford is just slightly over the border. Not a very far drive from Boston and does not take long during non peak driving times. Approx 1 hour. I think they are open only Mon-Fri.
It would definitely be worth the drive if you see a coin on their website you love and want to see in person.

Eric is top-notch and a very pleasant guy to deal with.

There is also Bob's Coins and Jewelry in Chelmsford, MA. Been doing business with Bob for around thirty years. He's as nice as they come.

    Cheers

    Bob

Thanks.i will be there all week, so depending on how long the Baltimore show lasts, I might get a chance to see some of their inventory.

One more plug for Bob in Chelmsford. He was my dad's favorite dealer back in the day, and I still get something nice from him every once in a while. Zero hype, very realistic pricing, no BS.

I've had very good luck with Lincoln Stamp & Coin. Worcester's what, 45 min drive west of Boston.
    I'll come up with something.
