As far as I know, the Central American Republic 1837 1 Real is unknown from any mint. This die is almost certainly from the Guatemala mint.

I'm confused . Is this real or not?
It's an authentic original die for a coin that is not known to exist.

Amazing, where did you find it?
I bought it about five years ago at Ponterio auction for $1265. That's actually big money for a foreign coin die.

In addition to this great find, are those two items on the right edge of the photo other dies?
or roll some [non-corrossive] ink across it and print lithographs!

So, why wait five years to post? I'm pretty behind on stuff myself just curious if you forgot or didn't realize what it was until recently?

Yes, I knew what I was buying when I bought it. No, I didn't "forget". Just felt like posting it now.
