Good day behind the table

mirabelamirabela Posts: 5,094 ✭✭✭✭✭
The kids and I set up at the flea market again & had a nice time ... did about double the dollar volume of last time & were pleased to sell a nice Unc Jefferson set and a very pleasant Unc/Proof complete Ike set among other items. Sent cards away with a number of people who would like inventory / appraisal help, too, so hopefully a little bit of consulting work comes of it.

We hiked together ten out of the last eleven weekends -- climbed 17 mountains this winter -- and it was a nice change of pace to spend the day relaxing, indulging another, mellower hobby. Hope everybody's weekend was good.

Awesome way to spend time with your kids. In addition, you are teaching them some valuable business and social skills. Well done.

I need to do some of that hiking, and less coin stuff. I got so sedentary this winter that I can really only walk 3-4 miles before something gives out. Pathetic for someone my age. It's now warm enough to go next door to NM and hike up some peaks... I hope the bears are hungry, because here comes some bacon.

Thanks! I don't often actually know anything about coins or the hobby that most people here don't, so my participation is sometimes a little limited -- but did want to check in and say, hello, we're still enjoying ourselves.

what do you mean climbing, you talking with rope and gear or hiking?

Depending on conditions around here, winter hiking kind of blurs into winter mountaineering, but no roped travel was required. The full crampons did have to come out a few times.

Sounds like a lot a fun. Good for you and the kids.

Great shot of your kids on the summit of Mt. Jefferson, with Mt. Washington behind.
It's great to get outside for some adventures with the kids!

Here are a couple of shots of climbing (roped version) with one of my kids, in early September:

Nice! Is that Tenaya Lake? I love it out there. Here's a couple from summer of 2013 -- we came over Don't Be a Smart Pass from Upper McCabe Lake, then summited Mt. Conness (bottom pic) the next day. Such great country ...
