In 1966 I was living in California and had been ordering coins from various foreign banks and mints.
I ordered two of the Ireland 1966 Patrick Pearse 10-shilling silver coins from the Central Bank of Ireland, they were sent to me via registered mail, and arrived in California on June 6, 1966.
Charles II croaked in early 1685, the 1684 dated coinage was abbreviated by his early demise thus this halfpenny is very rare.
James II jumped the ship in Ireland in 1690 but some of his supporters held out in the west of Ireland, namely Limerick into 1691 - overstriking gunmoney shillings as halfpence

Very cool envelope from the Central Bank of Ireland. Reminds me of some of the envelopes I used to have from my commem days with the added allure of a customs stamp. Very collectible indeed. Also love that 1942 half crown, nice toner Boosibri. Happy St. Paddy's day to all. RSP

Beautiful, is that the one auctioned from sovereign rarities earlier this week?
I think I’ll go eat some corn beef and cabbage 😊
