I usually say my grading vocabulary ends at about MS-65....and I'll say it's at least that.
Only real "issues" are the chatter on the reverse-right field, and maybe some obverse strike shortcomings. But the color probably trumps those....So I'll venture outside my comfort zone, and call it a 66.....
It looks to be Mint State with not big marks. There are few hits on the eagle's legs on the reverse, and some small ticks in the fields.
Start at MS-65, and hope for MS-66 if you send it in. Grading high grade coins from photos is dicey, but I think that the coin is worth sending in for grading.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Depends. There is discolorization on the obverse from just above the temple down the cheek to the jaw. If that is rub, this coin looks to be around 63. If that is a part of the toning pattern, then the obverse appears superb, and I would guess 66+. The reverse may hold it back a bit because of the hits on the legs. I would grade the reverse as 64-65. The wonderful toning may get a bump up by 1 point. So overall, if the dark area on the cheek/jaw is toning and not rub, I would think 65-66, with 66 being more likely.
I can't see those hits on the eagle legs holding it back. I just completed a Washington .25 box of 20, mostly PC66 and they excuse worse than this 32 has on a 6. But from an image on an iPhone screen all I can do is speculate. Pretty coin.
We're all born MS70. I'm about a Fine 15 right now.
Washies have made me scratch my head after seeing how they graded compared to what I would have guessed. Taking this into consideration I think this is a nice 64 coin because of the hits on the legs as pointed out by DollarAfterDoll.. I do really like it though
the reason I think the coin is a 64+/65 is on the chin is a good hit and under the tone there are some marks as well on the cheek.
I love the coin and would want that one in my collection any day of the week over a bright white 67. It is a wonderful example of a hard year to find so attractive.
It would be good to see a different image and I am curious what grade it is in PCGS view.

+1,
64's-65's are all day long coins from my experience ,
and this one looks 66 and them some so I'd say 66+/67
If the color is less dark, it's got great color!!!
