Breaks/Cracks/Cuds...

Whatever you want to call them, here are a couple neat NEWPS from the Indy show today.
Sorry, they are just phone pics.
I have to wait until tomorrow to attribute the large cent... anyone able to figure it out tonight? Searching for heritage for breaks, cracks, cuds, I was not able to find it.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Both look die cracks to me.

Now a question...
When does a crack become a retained cud?
When does a crack become a retained cud?
usually, about 100 die stages later.
imo, a small portion of cuds go from crack to cud stage w/o many intermediate stages, especially on larger diameter usa coins.
if one had/has access to 20,000 (prefer 50,000+ coins) cuds/breaks/cracks and their intermediate stages, would be quite fun to study/image them.
although, large cents, half dimes, dimes, capped halves and a few other series are already extensively studied.
im thinking more along the lines of shield nickels, lincolns, washies, roosies, jeffies.
