LouisEliasberg.com - This is pretty bad...

Something tells me that Louis Eliasberg would not be happy about this.

I especially like how they describe it as a replica of an authentic coin. I guess that's supposed to be better than a replica of a fake coin?

Not certain if LE would be pleased. I know I'm neither pleased nor impressed.

Articles such as these are purely status symbols... They scream 'DIG ME...I'm COOL!!'

    Not for me.... Cheers, RickO

That phrase "replica of an authentic...." sure is useful, isn't it? Guess it's a step better than a "replica of a replica."

all about how they "coin" the phrase , by saying replica of an authentic coin they hope this will sell them the most items

and as expected many will buy these reeled in by a clever use of words

This is sad. I hope someone has the right to sue them or at least discontinue putting Eliasberg's name on this product.

Hmmm....I can't fault someone for trying to make a buck but hawking low end watches using the name of a high end person is, well bad for the person's rep. I suppose one good thing is that if the Rhonda 2 movement ever breaks a watch owner could buy one from eBay for about 10 bucks and replace it themselves.

I had written to Richard Eliasberg when I saw the original ad. Here is his response.

    Julian:

I was not aware of this situation, and I appreciate your bringing it to my attention.

I hope all is well with you.
