Good story... however, it never determined why she was setting off the alarms...

I met Betty Soskin, the lady who set off the metal detectors at the mint.

She has become a celebrity as the "oldest park ranger".

She was a ranger at the "Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historical Park" in
Richmond, California, and in 2012 she gave a one hour talk to our group there.

I had a VIP tour of the Philadelphia Mint floor back in 2009 and the titanium pin in my left leg kept setting off the metal detector, even though the doctor who put it there promised me that it would not set off the metal detectors at airports.

If the USMint was as aggressive with all their employees as they were in searching this 94 year old park ranger, maybe a lot less "error" coinage would make it out of the mint.
