Congrats, you are lucky that CAC saw it as green toning and not PVC which
    was my first thought.

    Very rare variety. Handsome coin.

Thanks ... and to be fair ... the folks at CAC (and PCGS) did see it in person and were not making a determination from an image. Sometimes an image can be misleading. I am not sure it was "luck" as much as it was toning and not PVC.

Congratulations on a great pickup. Bought mine in 1976 at Penn/Ohio show and paid exactly as much as I had just paid for my first car. Mom had a fit!
Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

So ... it looks like greenish toning was just that ... toning and not PVC.

    It's official...

    Good guy - one

    PVC - zero
