Can't tell. Need better pictures with more light on the area in question.

It's unique looking, but like the Capt. alluded to. A close up of the rim and edge from an angle might reveal more.

looks like a rim cud but is abnormally straight

Is the abnormally looking anomaly incise or incuse?

    Without seeing the reverse side,
I'd say the obverse side area is PMD

I think that it connected to the holder it's in, and not part of the coin.

Appears to be a sliver of the edge of whatever holder it's in.

Assuming the surface of toward the rim is lower than the denticles, it could be a lamination that separated after the strike. I'd like to see a better picture of that area as well as the obverse opposite it to know for sure.

I think it's some kind of damage and not an error. This is on the assumption that the area in question is incuse, because that's how it appears to me from the photo.
