Error Folks - Would this token be an 'error coin'?

spacehaydukespacehayduke Posts: 5,479 ✭✭✭✭✭
Let me apologize for putting this on the US Coin forum. But not sure if the error specialists browse the world forum and we post Conders on this one from time to time. image

Is the token below considered an error coin? Is this broadstruck? I don't know much about errors types so thanks in advance for your help.

Best, SH

Very cool off center error token.

If it is the same coin then nice MAD or Misaligned Die.

Actually, it looks more correctly described to be a multistruck misaligned die on a defective planchet. This assumes both images are of the same coin.

Pretty cool looks "double struck misaligned die" as I see a shift downward between two strikes on the obverse.

Although the reverse is off center since the obverse isn't it's a MAD only.

As far as the planchet being defective prior to strike or tore from uneven striking is hard to tell.

I also only see evidence of two strikes on the reverse.

I agree, at first it appears double struck, but it also appears there are multiple strikes when looking at the "donkey side".

Sure doesn't look to be intentionally made that way so, yes, it's an errorimage
