The next precious metal?

The other White Metal

"Right now, lithium isn't even traded as a commodity; rather, it is managed through an oligopoly of three or four major global suppliers who have managed supply and demand for decades. That's why everything is priced on a contract basis. This year could see that change, which makes it a prime time to get in on lithium."

Would be pretty hard to store as bullion, it corrodes in the presence of air, and reacts dangerously with water!

Pretty unstable... would not be coin material.... However, should a major application

be found...(other than drugs or nuclear reactions to name a couple) then it will certainly grow in value. Cheers, RickO

Good points as far as stacking. Maybe a good paper play at some point?

If I were a young man I'd be stashing tin.

I'd also be a big fan of Thai coinage.

Good luck finding a method to invest in Li right now. It's not possible without being significantly diluted by a firm's other operations.

That would probably be the best way to store large amounts. But it is only about 10% lithium by weight, so it would be a bulky stockpile!

But it does have medicinal value so there's that.
