POP 3/0
Heritage archives show a single sale of a 1862 1/4d PCGS MS65RD, @$517.50 ,August 10 2010, at the ANA World coin auction No 3010, if memory serves, an ex- MacCrimmon item
WILL SELL FOR $395.00 PAYPAL NO FEES, DELIVERED REGISTERED WITH TRACKING NUMBER, WORLDWIDE
This coin was a special request to Neil, back in 2011, who had already taken over the shop and website of the late Colin Cooke, and I asked him to cherrypick the finest among half a dozen of red gems that he had left.
Slightly inferior (mostly in the obverse color) to the MacCrimmon example that was PERFECTION, hence the discount.

And the $40 is too little to cover the difference between the above and the perfection that the Cheshire was compared to this, which to my untrained eyes, might be 70-75% red obverse and 90% red reverse, but absolutely not RD.
I even had an MS 65RB more RD than this one... , that sold for $145! at a 50%+ loss to my buyprice!
Nice to own and sell one over - RD designated for once.
