You beat me to it on the Washington Before Boston medal ...

This piece was issued to mark the opening of the U.S. and other coins exhibit at the Philadelphia Mint.

At the beginning of the Civil War all of the U.S. Mint employees had to take a loyalty oath. This issued this piece to celebrate that. Many people think the real reason for issuing this piece was that Washington items were hot among collectors and this gave the mint an excuse to issue another one. As 19th century medals go, this one is common in bronze with 808 pieces struck.

    Excellent examples Cardinal!

Since you posted the C.C. Wright Declaration of Independence Medal, I figured I would add this piece. It is a wonderfully made electrotype of the C.C. Wright medal. Not as rare of course as the original, but still a very difficult piece to find in nice condition.

Another one of my favorite Washington pieces, the Washington Small Eagle, based on really the simplicity of the die. This one was from a collection assembled in the late 60s-early 70s and we were only the second owners since then. It graded PCGS MS64.

NER-Beautiful Washington Small Eagle Cent. Much more modest condition (XF45), but here's my Large Eagle (one of my favorite coins in my collection)...

George Washington was a Mason and the Masons are very proud of that.

It's funny. The same year Washington first came out with it's quarters, (1932) it's the same year that my father was born. The 1932S and 1932D are two under-rated coins for being the first Washingtons.image Happy Birthday George!

Wow! This thread has turned into a virtual G.W. museum. Fantastic pieces everyone!

Though this commem is very common, I've always liked the portrayal of Washington on horseback.
