    It's neat but a good portion of it would arrive as flaked dust due to being bounced around in transit.

    That is indeed kind of neat. However, if it is from 1803, then it cannot be from 'Maine', which was part of Massachusetts in 1803. We were not granted statehood until 1820. I would caution anyone from storing coins in such a box, however, due to potential contamination and off-gassing.
