The Society of Silver Dollars Collectors has chosen Roger Burdette to received this year's Mallis Memorial Award for Literary Contribution to VAM Collecting for his book, From Mine to Mint.

The book, which is available from Wizard Coin Supply, is an in-depth examination of the processes of the various US Mints and Assay Offices during the 19th century.

Congratulations to Roger!

Congrats to Roger! I've given him my kudos ATS where he hangs out.

This is a great topic for a book and would be a great read!

Well deserved Roger. A lot of time & hard work went in,

but a wonderful book of knowledge came out !

I use it all the time. Thank you.

Congrats! A great book that is useful for anyone with an interest in classic coinage and the processes used to make them.

I also congratulated him ATS.

Personally, I think forget these book awards. He's won enough. I want him to win the right to come back and post over here!

I was pleased to accept the award on his behalf on Friday, and when he found out about it, he was surprised and honored. This book is a key resource for any series where you find yourself wondering how something worked or happened at the mint, and these are questions often asked or pondered by VAM collectors.
