1797 Drapped Bust Fine Details

It was probably a nice coin before whatever happened to it occurred.

I kind of like it actually. Full date with a lot of detail.
Sure, it's damaged, but I'd rather have that kind of damage than a harsh/scratchy cleaning.

Just looked it up, and dang!
Those are pricey little buggers, no?

Thinking out loud: Would you rather own the above coin or a problem free FA02 with very little if any detail?

It could have been buried for a 200 years until a giant farm tiller brought it back up to life?

I think I would rather have this coin than a disc with all of the details worn off.

First thing that came to mind...a little kid with a magnifying glass and an ant hill.

Someone being destructive many moons ago; Suzy left me and took everything except this half dime and a hammer...she won't be getting them or me when she comes back...i'll show her.

On coins of this type, damaged surfaces don't bother me.

I agree with what John stated above. I could live with it.

For Braddick: I'd much rather have the above coin than a slick FA02.

A coin from that period in our history... I would be happy with one in that condition...

    Cheers, RickO
