Bechtler gold "now over 100 years old!"

Doing some research on Thomas Elder gold tokens for an article, and have a copy of a page from Elder's last sale catalogue, May 25, 1940, that lists one sitting on the desk in front of me.

The next lot is a "C. BECHTLER FIVE DOLLARS"

After a description and a grade is the comment "Now over 100 years old."

We take that for granted, but when he started doing sales they weren't!
