Does anybody remember Adrian from Anaconda Rare Coins?

If so, does anybody have any contact information? I'm looking for info on Costa Rica.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

The name is LEE!

I would walk down main street with them anytime.

I remember Anaconda - both Adrian and Brandon - They had some of the best selections at shows. At one show, I asked them to find a red large cent for me. They found the brightest red large cent that I ever saw. Still looks like a 2015 cent. After I purchased it I got it cac'd.

    That cent is AMAZING!!

Yep, Adrian is easily contacted on Facebook... I chat with him frequently... He also runs a coin forum on Facebook... just for older coins though. Cheers, RickO

For some reason, they always had amazing coins in their inventory. It was always easy to buy coins form them and they always accepted a layaways from me, Got some great coins from them!

I too purchased several coins from Adrian which I never plan on selling. Works of art. He is extremely knowledgeable about all things US Coinage. Crazy thing is he's just as smart about US Currency. I used to love reading and rereading his auction listings which always included a lot of useful information. Anaconda Rare Coins...ahh the good ol' days...

His stuff was usually spectacular...and spectacularly pricey! The Tiffany's of coin dealers...

Adrian is a great example of the color and fire once found daily on the PCGS forums. There was never a dull moment. Anaconda's story was too crazy to be real, but I was informed first hand that it did actually happen. It could have been made into a Hollywood movie.

Anyone care to share the story?

If you search the forums, you'll find some threads about it. It was a TPG certified coin that was previously sold by gototoningcoins on eBay.

I know Brandon went his separate way, was gone for a while, then came back pretty prominently, but now appears to be gone again or in hibernation? .... his site is still up but it has been a long time since there were any obvious updates.
  • I have one of his Anaconda hockey jerseys somewhere ;-)

Found a good thread on this coin here. It was a raw, AT coin sold by gototoningcoins for $55 on eBay. Then it was slabbed by a TPG and offered for $12k. It was taken off the market after being flagged as AT. Some more discussion on gototoning here and here. Sounds like gototoningcoins was in business at least from 2003 to 2008.

From the photos, the Peace dollar had a very strange look and it was very different than the other coins carried by Anaconda.

A colorful character in the coin world. And his former associate Brandon, and he are still two guys who motivated me to work harder in the business. And what a grueling bidness.

Not that I know of. There was a thread recently with some of Brandon's amazing photography. They had some great coins.

Think about looking into Panama instead of CR. Panama is cheaper and more familiar.

Went back and reviewed my PM's with Anaconda starting in 2002 - always a pleasant exchange. He is a very bright individual and talented in many ways.

Why is it such a grueling business ?

I manage money. I earn money. I save money .
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

I'm hoping the rest of the story was a coin transaction. image
