Updated to add:It's been a while since anyone has tried to buy coins from us with stolen card info, but now there's been two attempts in two days. Apparently a big batch of credit card numbers were recently stolen, hacked, or whatever. Keep alert, dealers!

As far as taking credits cards? Throw away your credit card readers. Send all buyers an invoice through PayPal and do not ship until PayPal says it is OK. This is the best way to reduce risk.

Oh, we see these a mile away and they're not a problem for us. These alerts aren't complaints, just warnings to other online dealers. Never in a million years would we stop taking credit cards and insist on PayPal.

EMV, Smart Cards, Chip and PIN - whatever you want to call them have moved the liability from the card issuers to the merchant.
With the swiping of the magnetic stripes on credit cards disappearing, fraud with CNP (Card Not Present) are the scammers best play now.

Subscribe to an AVS (Address Verification Service) and only ship to the billing address.
