I am completely at a loss for the poor farmers in NC and their marshmallow crop that was devastated this year...

Thomas Elder "Speed The Plow" DeLorey-83 / CA-2 Obverse, 28.75mm, Silver, Uniface - blank reverse die with beaded border.

These were supposed to have been struck and distributed at the 1909 Montreal ANA Convention. The obverse design is a exact facsimile of the 1835 Walsh's General Store Hard Times Token HT-216 / Low-99. Although still scarce they are more common in medals such as Brass, Copper, and Aluminum however only 3-5 had been issued in Silver. One of the Silver issues is in the ANS museum collection and another is in the Bank of Canada collection. Although this was purchased with an unknown provenance based on a plate match this is the Virgil Brand example described in the Bowers & Merena Brand sale as "Proof-64, Attractively Toned, Quite Rare"

I get the "onion" parody, but I stared at the onion coin for about five minutes in amazement. That's pretty cool. Srsly. Onion coinage.

Here is another one from NC. Too many liberal gomers and goobers in that county.

    No solar here!

That is funny.... and speaking of Bermuda Onions, they used to be very popular, but

you cannot even find them anymore... onion farming just made them unprofitable here

in the states. They were really good onions though... Cheers, RickO
