NEWP: Philip II Stater

I am not a gold coin collector, yet this one had quite a design, centering and "pop" for an 18mm, approximately 2400 year old ancient.

1) I love your forum icon
2) I am a newbie to ancients myself. There are far more qualified members to answer yet I would say that a) Many were made b) Hoards which were found and insulated from the elements c) The main driver for my choices in these is engraver's style and overall eye appeal. You look at many to find the right one for your collecting style/focus.
