BTC was a great ride if you could keep up with the required hardware changes on a skilled hobbyist level. If you had the insight to save them when the making was good you hit the lotto. One friend racked his brain for a month because he knew he had thousands of BTC's on an old hard drive from a system he ran as a room heater (did SETI and Gnome too) He found that password about the time BTC was $1000 apiece. His was the first Lambo I've seen up close, but his new mansion was better (and yes he paid the taxes).
I got into it serious a little late and turned it for around 100 oz silver when it was all done. I turned the rigs off and sold them when BTC was in the $200 area. Looks like BTC is $450+ now so something happened.

Sometimes you have to just stop and marvel at how brilliant some people are.
