Reimaging of a few of my coins

A friend went up to the recent Baltimore show and dropped these off with Todd Pollock. The template is similar with Brandon's work which maintains consistency. Todd does some great work.

My favorite of that bunch is the Salzburg 1/2 T! Nice original surfaces and color!

Thank you. The other 66 is great in its iridescent look. This one has full luster as struck

You chose a peculiar lot to have it imaged.Nice images and coins overall. The 67 taler is an impossible coin to capture as it appears. The nicest and most realistic image of it to date, remains that i-phone image of yours... I have a coin that challenges every single photographer I took it to. It might not challenge Phil,(for it will be imaged raw) if PCGS decides to cross it at 65, but I'm in no mood for such things.

I do give the TPG credit for recognizing the nuance. I will keep the 66 as it does have a completely different look to it.
Me thinks these pics are superior to anything I've seen yet

I'm curious about the ancient. How does a 2,000 year old coin stay in choice mint state condition? Is there general consensus among the numismatic community or any writings/articles about how these amazing coins were stored, passed on to future generations, etc. Or were most just buried in a spot conducive to preservation? Incredible, just incredible!!
