Advice On Liquidating Modern Stuff - Proof Sets and Mint Sets

Where is the best place to liquidate these? I don't want the modern proof sets, prestige proof sets, or mint sets anymore and haven't looked at them in years. I also don't want to take the time to image them and put them on eBay. Are there any suggestions?

A lot of the mint sets you can just cut up and spend. It'll save postage.



For the rest I'd suggest you just sell them to a wholesaler. You should easily get 80% of bid and if you're willing to shop around a bit it's not hard to get 100% of bid. Check out Arizona Coin and Jewel and Littleton. There are other big buyers but they buy more sporatically.



I've had little interest offering themon the BST board here but it might not hurt to try.

Unlike cladking, I have never found a wholesaler willing to give 80% of bid for common, modern, non-silver proof and mint sets, let alone receive 100% of bid. In general, to receive that high an offer, one has to have many hundreds of sets for delivery at one time. The local B&Ms around here likely offer 60-70% for large collections and they sell up the food chain for 80% or thereabouts.

To liquidate, probably just take one picture and sell them on eBay as a lot. Or try the BST, but people there are just as cheap as the nice people on eBay.

I just went to a local auction where these were packaged up 5 to 10 to a bundle. The bidders went crazy. Definitely an option to explore.

Interesting... I have been thinking about all the modern mint sets I have accumulated

(stopped around 2008)... might have to give this some thought since they are just
