Picked this up off of ebay, strong cartwheel luster when rotating under the light. Not great images (probably scans) from vendor but took the risk. Paid off I think. Off to CAC next.

    Well done, I love 28s, they are a great date in the bust quarter set.



    But don't take my word for it, I've never met a bust quarter I didn't like.

    I tend to agree, I'd put it in the 40 or 45 range.

    By PCGS photograde standards, the wear is definitely 40-45. I figured it would come in dull and hairlined and why it was at 35, but neither. I compared it to my large BQ P45's in other dates (n=4), and it compares well, in the middle of the pack in terms of wear, luster, and surfaces. So that is why it is off to CAC - if there is some hidden problem that the best can spot, I will find out this way.



    It is the most common die variety of the 28's, I hope someday to get a rarer 28 DV, yes BQ's are an illness for sure, but a good one.

    I happen to own a number of VF-35 bust quarters. For some reason, PCGS seems to be a bit tight on grades vf-30-xf-45. Yours is nicer than most 35s that I have seen and, from the pics, looks choice. The reverse certainly looks xf and the obverse only shows vf from 7 O'clock to 1 O'clock. Congrats! I'm inclined to call it a 40.

    I am a PCGS CAC man, and I think your coin certainly deserved the green bean. The gold bean is something that only CAC seems to understand well. I like your coin a lot.
