What others may not be saying, but needs to be said is that when you see pink(ish) copper, it's not a good sign.



An acidic environment causes that.



Try dropping a copper cent (say 1964) into vinegar for about 30 seconds, look at what you end up with.



You don't want that colour.

What Lanlord said, that pink look indicates it's been treated with something, or cleaned.

Nice detail, but most definitely cleaned, and rather harshly so, unfortunately.

yes its in the mail back to the seller. sad it had a nice strike. very dark in his pictures.

If it weren't for the spot on star four, I would say it was cleaned with Brasso.

I think it's natural color is on the obverse rim at 11 o'clock.

The seller will simply 'age' it a bit and resell at an even better price. Cheers, RickO
