Just thought I'd share.
Stumbled across these a couple of weeks ago. They are the standard 36" x 24", but have a height of 4" (rather than 3" on the normal metal case) which allows for more merchandise stacking. I took a chance and ordered a couple on a Friday and they arrived the next day. Over all I was pleased with them, and several dealers asked where I got them. I was a little concerned about the "Shatterproof Clear Plastic Top" being sturdy enough, but it made it through the show no problem. They do have a small hasp to lock them, although the description says they do not.

How heavy are they compared to the aluminum cases?
Not sure, but they feel like half the weight.

while i do like the wood look more;
no lock, no glass and less durability? hmmm. intended for extensive show setups these cases are not.
setting up a few times a year, probably ok.
there are times when dealers need leave the cases and most don't have assistance and while some have lockable table covers, walking away for a few moments and having cases that don't lock is a major deal-breaker.
i do like pursuing new ideas/options though.
some dealers don't use cases and do have assistance so maybe these are for them?
i've seen kiddie pools, albums, coins simply laid on cloth etc. used in-lieu of cases so creative yet simple solutions abound.
