The Night Before Halloween: forum faces pop quiz

There was a miniature Darkside gathering in Asheville, NC this past weekend.
The three CU members in this first picture also post on the Liteside, however, so see if you can guess who they are.

The second photo produced some spectral images of two Dearly Departed Darksiders.
The living person at right in this photo is pretty exclusively a World coin guy so you might not see him over here on the US Coin Forum much. Extra credit if you can name the two hovering, avatarized spirits of our departed forum friends, but I wouldn't expect you to be able to.

I think the guy on the left is some wonky metal detectorist.
Nope. Never has swung a detector, to my knowledge.
Wonky? Maybe. He has been known to be into exonumia.
PS- not the guy on our left, as you look at the picture, anyway.
One of the other guys has been known to put the coil to the soil a time or two.
(And there's two past detectorists amongst the living members in the bottom photo.)

So, the Lord Makeover is not in this photo ? Whooda thunk it?

Welcome to the older, fatter, bespectacled me.
At least I look jolly in the first picture, right? If you can't be thin and good looking anymore, go for jolly.
First photo (L to R): Greg C. ("savoyspecial"), Terry G. ("asheland"), Rob S. ("lordmarcovan").
Second photo (L to R): Greg C. ("savoyspecial"), Rob S. ("lordmarcovan"), Michael S. ("Aethelred").
Second photo (in ghostly avatar form, L to R): the late Wayne W. ("Newbiecollector"), Brad S. ("tbirde56").
who is taking the photo? then i'll guess.
Michael took the first picture (he couldn't figure out the timer on the camera and all the spouses were downstairs). Terry took the second.
Everyone in the room but me and the phantoms are full time brick-and-mortar coin dealers, but probably not as active on the show circuit these days, so I guess it isn't surprising the faces weren't so familiar. I myself haven't been to a national show since 2007 (or any show since January of 2008), so with quite a few added pounds and no Holey Coin Vest and hat, I'm much less recognizable.

Your Honor, I had no idea that the coin had been "curated"
Looks like fun times!!
LordM...I always thought you looked like the leprechaun in your old avatar.
Edited to add - no, wait, that WAS you in your old avatar...right?
I had no clue.

Yes, that was me... in 2004. Amazing what eleven years, declining eyesight, ballooning weight, and the loss of all one's upper teeth can do for one's appearance, eh?

I'm right there with you brother.

I went from 215 in 2012 to 336 now from health issues so i know what you mean. Also I know you were told to stop biting those fake coins so hard as they would ruin your teeth. See what happens when you don't listen.

But at least I've got a backup career plan if a traveling circus is ever shorthanded and needs a substitute for one of their dancing elephants. (I'll still need dance lessons before that happens, though.)
Part of my issue is thyroid related. Part of it. I can't cop out completely and blame it all on that, of course. My sedentary lifestyle can't be helping much.
I should get outside with the metal detector more, even though I never saw any weight loss from that. It would improve my physical activity and my silver coin count at the very least!
I know Greg C. ( Savoyspecial ) well. We were grading partners at the ANA Summer Seminars in Colorado Springs in 2012. He hasn't changed a bit since then. I know Lord M ( Rob ) only thru these Boards. Sorry, don't know the other guys.
Looks like a good group. The wives must be trading war stories out of ear shot !! LOL !!
