Finally found my Binion...

Yep...Binion dollars are what they are...but still hard to find a nice one...NGC MS64...1885-O. I could do without the 'coin counter' mark but I like the tone. Unless you are from Nevada you have no idea how the news media fed on this story...week after week. Anyhow...it will go nice next to my Redfield. As I stated in an earlier post I grew up somewhat near the Redfield Mansion and have been through Pahrump many times. Every time I think...Why a coal chute and why in the world in a vault in Pahrump? That's it...take care...

Daddy Binion made his money in the Las Vegas Horseshoe casino, so Teddy thought Parump was like burying your coins in your backyard I guess.
Nice coin with the cool back story.

Can someone point out the 'coin counter' mark, please?

Hey Paul...the 'coin counter' mark is the scratch (arc) in the field in front of Lady Liberty's face and ends at the bottom of the "P" in pluribus. Dollar coin counting machines have a large hopper that the coins are dropped into...as they are counted a little mechanical "arm" flips them. Very common on GSA Dollars too. Take care...
