Oct 10, 2015: At least 13 silvers, and maybe one gold!

Finally got back to the "silver beach" hoping to get more silver, BUT since being spoiled with gold there a few times, I was really hoping for a little of the yellow stuff. Started out immediately with two deep wheats. Then got a couple more, and finally got a sterling ring (the one with the cross on it). Then got a couple more pieces of silver jewelry. Finally got a silver Washington. Most of these signals are the slightest blip. Nothing I would ever consider digging in a grassy area. Just wish the top 8 inches would be removed. Can only imagine how many more things are there. I'd bet Barbers and Seated would start coming out at that point. But removing that dirt will never happen.

Towards the end of the hunt I got a nickel signal right on the surface. Looked down (I'll admit I'm bad at looking down normally), and see a yellow "o" sitting in the mud. Could it be?? YES! It was a ring. Saw something written inside the band, but no K marking. Upon getting back (to my buddy's so no access to a magnifying glass), could see a name was what looks like hand-etched and not by a jeweler. Can't see any K markings, but it looks like it may be 10k as just a few hours/days in the mud caused some tarnish. Will have to check it out when I get home. Possible diamonds too, but even if real, I doubt they'll add any/much value. What do you guys think?

HH all!

P.S. - those four coins at the bottom are still cookie coins. Will break them open when I get back. Three dimes, and what could possibly be a WTN.

    "LOREL(Y?)"

That sure as heck looks like a gold ring to me!

I like the little ring with the cross on it, too.

It is LORELY (can't really see the Y in the pic). Kind of an odd thing to man-handle an inscription in there. When I get back on Sunday I'll take a closer look for a K mark.

Bayard, will post the cookie coin insides on Sunday. Hoping for a barber, but all silver coins at this place have been merc or newer.

Forgot to reply to PPC! PPC, how much more is left of the walnut season? Did you really fill 83 buckets? That's pretty serious right there.

Dock, don't lose hope just yet. There's a chance those cookie coins could end up being... real 1930s cookies. So there's still a chance!

Just got to breaking them open today. Two mercs, a silver Roosevelt, and a WTN. Does anyone want to guess the weight of the merc in the first pic?

It started out at 2.50 grams; so, I'll guess 1.15 grams.

Not a bad guess. This one comes in at a lofty 0.8 grams!! These cookie coins tend to be toast, but I didn't realize that much toast.

Also found a brown merc in the pile of other change. Moves the count up to 14.
