Hint to those that use the BST

If you have something you are trying to sell, especially if you are using another service (like GreatCollections, which is on a certain timing for the sale that you don't directly control), you may want to answer PMs about the coins you are hawking....

Someone recently used the BST and I was interested in knowing a little more about a few of their coins.....I PM'ed them, with ~5 days left in the auction, and never did get a response. Hope they got the price they wanted without my bidding on them....I probably would have been bidding ~retail as they appeared to be nice coins, but, I put the funds into another coin and kept some in my wallet.

I don't know the seller (unless they are an alt) as they don't have many posts, haven't been on the boards for years, and I don't recall any posts outside of the BST (but their PM function was active when I did it).

So, sellers, if you truly want to try to get more for your coins and are using the BST, answer questions you get image....particularly easy "yes/no" type of questions about the coins. image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

It really is frustrating...lack of seller/buyer communication. I can understand using a couple of different avenues for sell/auction of items, but it seems like there are quite a few people who list and forget...the try and play catch up towards the end.

I have always had good communications with buyers/sellers on the BST..... If I encountered such as you did Ron, I too would have terminated efforts. Cheers, RickO
  • True. I was interested in a coin on the BST a while back from a person who had several coins for sale but there communication skills were very poor to zero so I didn't bother.

You could have called Ian, he is very responsive. I don't think he sleeps.

Some questions, Ian wouldn't know or it wouldn't be fair to ask of him and expect the full answer one wants.
It IS fair to ask the personal who actually instigated the selling of the item since it was theirs to start with.

Not meeting CAC approved would be important to know I agree.

I agree, I had to PM one guy asking for a price and he basically said "Im entertaining offers at this point, kinda leaning toward sending it for auction, the pictures will be better and it will get a lot of attention." so no price provided and despite posting on BST sounds like he really wanted to send it to auction. Strange, a total turn off and I am generally a strong buyer for that type of material, plenty of fish in the sea.
