USMint and Smartpost chuckle

2 orders from the USMint....within 30 minutes of each other.
First order ships almost immediately.
Second order ships the following day.
Both were scheduled for delivery today (cool).
Looked today and the 2nd order is still scheduled for delivery today. First order now scheduled for delivery tomorrow.
Somehow, the 2nd order showed up at the post office a day earlier than the 1st order, even though 2nd order was sent a day later.
Both show "arrived at FedEx" on the same day....almost 3 hours apart though. Then, they left Grove City, OH and went their separate ways....literally (different cities after that)
Smartpost is SO STUPID and I wish there was a path to complain to the USmint about it.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

<< <i>If you worked there you might have a different understanding of how and/or why those things end up the way they do. I doubt it's because they are dumb. If that was the case, you'd never get your stuff.
Perception means a lot in the world of business as well. If they truly were "smart", they would be aware of their perception by people impacted (ie....people like me....I won't call myself a direct customer of smartpost because that is the USMint's role).
They certainly are "dumb" when their "efficiency" has a later package overtaking an earlier one, and they were in the exact same start location within a few hours of each other.
I would NEVER use them, on my own, given any sort of choice (that wasn't 10x more expensive)

Expected Delivery Day: Thursday, September 24, 2015 (That's today)
Your item arrived at our USPS origin facility in DES MOINES, IA 50318 on September 22, 2015 at 6:13 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.
My 2 day priority package is still in Des Moines, two days after shipping, no update, according to USPS tracking.
Local Postmaster? "Wait, the status of your package will update tomorrow."
Yeah, sure, right, got it, useless usps stinkaroo. Who knows where my package is. Barcodes, computer monitoring, frankly, the USPS cannot tell me where my two day priority post is with a real date / time in this day and age? The best USPS can do is that my package was received two days ago?
No wonder USPS getting killed. Crazy.
I live in Mass and I ordered something from Florida a few months ago and Smartpost took 18 days , possibly due to the number of stops it made in Wisconsin and Iowa 2 states most definitely not along the way to my house. I ship a lot of items Fed ex myself and when I'm generating labels I can see the Smartpost rates and half the time its actually higher than Home Delivery rate. I can't fathom why anyone uses it at all .
Twice as slow and more expensive ? Sign me up.......NOT

I'm guessing the fulfillment center shipped about 5000 AX3 orders a day [in addition to their other orders] so if your orders were 30 minutes apart they could well have shipped a day apart. Remember that FEDEX handles em first. They must be sorted and bundled in such a way that dictates where they go when they leave the fulfillment center.

Remember that I can see the whole timeline and that I saw when they left the fulfillment center and where they arrived each step and what timestamp they used.
In this particular case of 2 packages, they did it in a non-efficient (imho) and screwy way. To be within a couple of hours of each other AT the fedex facility, coming to the exact same address, and going out 2 different ways and the latter one getting here a whole day ahead....that IS screwy. No 2 ways, or excuses, about it.

Agree it seems screwy, but just because it is time stamped doesn't always mean much IMO. A lot of it is when things are done and when things are updated. For chits n giggles it would be interesting to go to your FEDEX office and have them splain the discrepancies to you. Be interesting to hear what they say.

Comment = I would like a at least partial shipping refund on this item. UPS had a temp driver and he could not find my house, so it was not delivered. I had to drive to their facility to pick up the package. It says on the tracking info the package had the wrong address or something similar NOT TRUE It has the correct address on the package, the driver could not find the address. Thank You....

Things like this have happened to me before when ordering from the US MINT never complained before or asked for a refund on shipping but after this you can be sure I will be. Let the MINT sort it out with the shipping service, if they get enough complaints asking for shipping refunds maybe they will get the message....

Why would anyone pay $13 for expedited shipping on those unless you were going to walk them through PCGS grading?

Of course it's your choice. Was just looking for a reason that I may have overlooked.
<< <i>2 orders from the USMint....within 30 minutes of each other.
First order ships almost immediately.

Me too. The complaint part that is.
I got notified that a "Subscription" had shipped yet it's not in the "My Orders" History and the tracking number in the email doesn't work.
The name is LEE!
<< <i>I got notified that a "Subscription" had shipped yet it's not in the "My Orders" History and the tracking number in the email doesn't work. >>
Since the new company took over I never see subscriptions on my order status page. I do get the email saying the subscription has shipped with tracking number however. The only shipping method available is "Stupid Post" on subscriptions. That's fine, I guess, but I wish there was a choice available. I would choose 1st Class or Priority Mail and never choose Stupid Post ever.
To trach Stupid Post shipments I use This Tracking Site. Others have said if you put "92" in front of the supplied tracking number it will show up on the USPS tracking page. Also it is said the the regular FedEx page will track Stupid Post packages.

Had a similar thing. You'll probly have to go to the FEDEX site smartpost link to get it to work.
Stop it. You're going to blow a gasket.
