My Only Big Find

Back in 1997 when my grandfather passed away, I brought my metal detector with me when I flew back for the funeral. He lived his whole life (86 years) in a small central Michigan farming town. The day of the funeral, I was metal detecting in his yard and found this 1867 Indian Head penny. It was in the front yard, about a foot from the sidewalk and about an inch down. It's the ugliest coin in the world, but it's in my Dansco album in my 1867 hole.
