Heritage Auction - What did you win?

This one was huge. Lots of record prices.

I got blown out of the water, and then some, on the 1975 mini Aaron pop 1. Thought I could win it for $15K, it went for almost $20K. These tough 70s star cards keep reaching ridiculous heights.

Any other stories of failure or success??

I picked up a 1973 Joe Morgan #230 psa-9 for $1k...less than recent sales by ~$500. Some buyers might have passed with a quick look since there were so many cards to view because of an apparent tilt. Card is tilted in holder...but image is not tilted if you look closely.

Some really nice cards in this auction. Once again it shows that high grade copies for investment purposes are the way to go.

And I sold my Brett 10 regular and Brett 10 mini for less than half what one sold for. Going to drink myself to death now. It's been real!

Even a Jim Sundberg card went for over $1,000. I did manage to pickup a Sunny I wanted for my set but not that one.

So that Nolan Ryan sold for $26,290.00 2 years ago in a Heritage auction:

My biggest highlight was picking up a PSA 9 1973 Vic Harris for under $200. I actually forgot to follow-up on day one extended bidding due to being busy hosting a wedding rehearsal dinner. There were deals to be had on some of the lower pop commons. Oh well.

Wow, looking at these prices, one would think 1975 unopened would cost more than it does. Might have to go shopping...

Best of luck finding 10s of stars, there's a reason it's priced where it is and it's still a good bit too high to go hunting for 10s at current levels.

I started this same thread 5 days ago, no replies. image

I won one card, came in second on about 8 cards. Prices very high. Interesting, half the auction ended after the dow dipped 700 points. Looked precarious to me.

    Collecting PSA 9's from 1970-1977. Raw 9's from 72-77. Raw 10's from '78-'83.
Collecting Unopened from '72-'83; mostly BBCE certified boxes/cases/racks.
    Prefer to buy in bulk.

I picked up 14 Padres cards, one PSA 9 and 13 PSA 10s.

Can not believe the Winfield rookie PSA 10 went for $9,500!!! image

The last one went for $7,300.00 on 6/30/15.

I've noticed these premium cards tend to fetch higher premiums when sold through auctions houses not on eBay.

While $9,500 is certainly a new high for the Winfield rookie, it's within "reason" image

These are some amazing prices. On the other side of the sports collectibles market - memorabilia - I saw some similarly strong results in SCP's auction.
Always buying 1971 OPC Baseball packs.
