Book : Inside Power by Gary Sheffield

I am about one third of the way through this book and find it very enjoyable. So far, one of the better baseball autobiographies I have read.

Has anyone else read it?

I would appreciate it if spoilers were not mentioned.

Does he mention why he bagged it in Milwaukee when he realized he didn't want to play for the Team?

I am not a fan of Sheffield.

Jim Bouton was hated for his book "Ball Four" but I found it very enjoyable. I like to read auto/biographies of ballplayers. If you don't want to contribute $ to a player you don't like, you could buy a used one.

Dimaggio doesn't come off very well in the book I have about him.

I always liked watching Sheffield play. Great player, iconic batting stance.

  • I remember him talking about when he and Bonds were working out together and he claimed he didn't know what the stuff Bonds was giving him was. I'm sure a world class athlete consumes products in to his body without knowing what they are.
