Best AH to use?

Hoping for feedback on what AH's are best to use for higher end cards and unopened wax. I see that Robert Edwards does
Not charge a consignment fee for higher ticket items. Are they one of the best because of this?

REA is one of the best because of their mailing list, customer service, and reputation in the hobby. Love of the Game has, in my experience, great customer service and, while smaller, handles some impressive cards. I've also had good experiences with SCP Auctions and Heritage. Memory Lane has had some strong results for unopened, as has Collect Auctions. Mile High handles a fair number of higher-end cards. There are plenty of decent options out there.
Always buying 1971 OPC Baseball packs.

To piggyback this thread, I'm actually curious to hear what people think is the best AH for post-1980 cards? Specifically I have a few bindered sets from the mid-80s (Football/Hockey/Basketball) and trying to figure out which one to use. I thought about REA, but it appears they are primarily interested in pre-80 cards, which is why I ask..

I primarily use PWCC for everything as their platform is on e-bay, it's transparent, and probably gets more eye-balls than the others combined. However, I don't buy or sell modern >80's cards.
    Collecting PSA 9's from 1970-1977. Raw 9's from 72-77. Raw 10's from '78-'83.
Collecting Unopened from '72-'83; mostly BBCE certified boxes/cases/racks.
    Prefer to buy in bulk.

There is a smaller auction place called Small Traditions that handles a lot of post-1980 cards. You might check into them.

  • REA probably has one of the best audiences. You may be out of time to consign for their Fall auction now. I'm not sure. If interested, you might want to contact them immediately. If you miss the Fall deadline, you would have to wait for their Spring auction.

    PWCC is also top notch.

LOTG (Love of the Game) is also top notch.

REA, PWCC, Memory Lane, etc. Lot of good ones to choose from.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

    LOTG
    BST
    Bussineau
    REA
    Mile High
    Memory Lane
    Goodwin
    Sterling

All of these are solid choices for an AH.

For online sellers, for unopened product I would go with : BBCE, PWCC, or Probstein.

+1. May be a good time to consign with them. Al just received a lot of recognition from his auction that ended last week ... he sold a Game Used Gehrig bat for $400,000.00+.

PWCC for online bar none....so good in fact I'm moving a lot if not 99% of my items to them for various reasons.
Greg B....customer service is as good as it could ever get. I've been thoroughly impressed with these top two in the service dept.
    then REA

.the jury is still out on a large up and comer....lesson...do your due diligence...which you are......its your expensive cardboard. most have had good and may be less than good experience with many.
Interested in higher grade vintage cards. Aren't we all. image
