1962 Topps Baseball Cello Rip!

Now this is certainly the oldest pack I have ever ripped.

It was originally in a GAI holder. Didn't purchase it at BBCE but took it there and Rick graciously cut it out for me.

Rick and Steve gave it a lookover and said it was most probably good.

Burnside's top left corner was visibly dinged but I was undeterred.

Same card. Dark background still works better despite the dark border.

Awesome Jake Gibbs Chris. I have that card in my childhood collection, but yours is in much better shape. image

I thought that pack looked good when you showed it to me so I'm glad it looks like it was.

Super centering so far! Topps wasn't exactly known for quality control back then. Thanks for giving us the chance to live vicariously through you. Pulling for some star power.

    Frank Malzone:

    Total Graded = 129
    PSA 10 = 0
    PSA 9 = 1
    PSA 8 = 43
    PSA 7 = 57
    PSA 6 = 20

The centering keeps it from a 9 IMO but if I am wrong.

Latest Auction Prices for: PSA 9 - Average Price: $1,801.00

    Listing Type:
    Show:
    Date Auction Link Price Extra
    10/30/12 eBay $1,801.00

And if it gets the 8.5 which I think it will

Latest Auction Prices for: PSA 8.5 - Average Price: $204.50

    Listing Type:
    Show:
    Date Auction Link Price Extra
    3/25/10 eBay $204.50
    8/24/08 eBay $333.28

OK so similar to Malzone, this would need to stay above an 8...

Gordon Windhorn? Biggest bunch of no names I have ever seen in a pack. But what a beautiful pack! You deserve a big name after these guys.

I am no expert on 1962 and it seems to be a really challenging set, but some of these cards look really great. Depending on the way the ball bounces, this might have been a really good pickup!

The stamp looks clean as can be. Does anyone think it is worth grading? I have no clue.
