Grades are in ~ Toned Lincolns v1.0

MonsterCoinzMonsterCoinz Posts: 1,512 ✭✭✭✭✭
I haven't ever shared my PCGS results before, so I felt like changing that today. This was a larger batch, but here are a few. I also have a question about the 1910 below.

PR65 BN. This is the 3rd raw MPL I've found this this year, somebody buy me a lottery ticket. image

PR68 BN. I've sent probably 15+ 1961 Lincolns in, most come back 65-67 BN. This one is a Pop 1/0.
image

MS66 BN. Pop 2/0, I was the owner of the other 66 BN, but sold it.

MS63 BN. I'm just happy it graded. A gift from WingedLiberty.

For curiosity's sake, what would your obverse/reverse grades be on this 1910?

Thanks for looking!

Great coins. I love the 1913.
The 1910 looks like a 65 coin to me but I have a hard time grading from trueviews.

I wish I could run upon a few of those. I spend a lot of time searching for toned Lincolns without much success.

Awesome! Congrats. I really like the 1913, 1916 and 1961.
There are sooo many toned 1961 Proofs and that one is neat.

As to your question on the 1910. I looked up the cert so I can't play the guessing game
but the obverse looks very nice and the reverse seems to have some eye appeal issues.
I can't tell what is going on in the top half but there definitely seems to be something...

well happy you changed your spots here and made a darn thread

huge congrats on ... 3rd raw matte proof...THIS YEAR image
65bn is quite a grade too

    great coins as always
that 1961 landing pr68bn is amazing...a feat in itself right there
as much as most toners aren't about the numbers side of things
it is amazing to see 68 be awarded in bn

    your 1910
the obverse is solid....the reverse is a little weak in comparison
but an overall sweet example here
i could see it in a 65 but would accept it in a 64

awesome examples and thanks for sharing their beauty with us here

The shoulder detail on the 1910 is amazing, similar to the pr 1913.

Thanks for the comments. The 1910 was 64 BN. I thought I'd play the crack out game and at least get a TrueView out of it. Sad to see it drop to 63 but it's still a keeper.

After studying it, the shoulder detail might have an adverse effect on the reverse 'smudge'. If the planchette is slightly thinner there, it would explain the sharper detail and also the mirror image impression coming through on the reverse next to ONE.

    Nice group of Lincolns.

Seems like there's significant roughness to the planchet of the 1910 to the point that might
preclude 65 for the obverse. I'd call it 64+/63+ (reverse is lower due to carbon spots). Of
course, I'm completely out of my element with copper, so I could be completely off-base.

I think the surfaces will hold back the 1910. I'd call it a 64 but 63 or 62 wouldn't surprise me.

Congrats on finding the 1913 MPL!

The '13 is the nuts, nice find!
The '10 is a 65 or 64/63 in my book, I like the days when they use to split grade (yea!)
