Somebody paid $51 for this?? And had 19 bids??? Am I missing something?

A: Report what? your use of "wtf"? Haven't you ever seen a defaced baseball card before? What decade did you grow up in? Don't you know that some people appreciate and collect completely ruined and even miscut cards? I've had several watchers tell me stories of having hundreds of wrecked cards in their youth, cards they drew on, put into their bicycle spokes, erased the logos and drew the teams names the players got traded to...all sorts of things were done to cards before it became a big business. I recently found tons of such cards from the early 60s in a card shop and I bought every last one of them 'cause it reminded me of what we did to our own cards way back when. It was the norm back then...and is one good reason why it's hard to find a card from the era that wasn't kid-handled. In fact I found one 1965 Gus Triandos card that my brother had Magic Markered back in 1965 in this same card store a few months ago, but 50 years later and over a thousand miles away from where we originally lived. Yep, scribbled-on cards definitely have staying power.

I sort of like it. It makes more sense to me than some paintings that sell for millions image

I would not buy that card for my collection but I actually think it is a pretty cool card. The bidding history shows a couple of interested buyers with a feedback of 2000 or so. If I am this seller I would be making other cards like this. To each his own.
