Blast from unopened past - BBCE prices 2003

I was just clearing out old paperwork and I came across a file from my past purchases. I found a printout of BBCE prices from 2003. Back then they listed all of their inventory on ebay with BIN prices. It's a five page text listing. I'm not sure if they even had a website back then. Anyway here are some prices from March 2003 for your enjoyment. I'm not posting everything but just some of the highlights. The price increases are amazing on some of this stuff.

They're not as ridiculous as I was expecting considering it was over a decade ago. To no surprise the biggest discrepancies come w the trays and the racks

It's interesting to me how close many of these baseball unopened prices in 2003 were to prices in 2013.

It seems like during the recession years things maybe dropped a little. It's crazy how much prices went up the past couple of years. It seems like the major gains have been recent. The question now is will it keep going up or not? I think price increases might stall out a little and cool down before going up again.

I'd say market has plateaued for most unopened product over past year or so but I can recall 2003 prices being in effect for quite a while after 2003, too. The real run up was from 2010-2013.

The one thing that changed is the supply. As more product was opened and hoarded the supply dropped and they aren't making any more of the old stuff. That might help the pre 1980 stuff hold on to the gains and keep rising. What about the 30's and 40's age crowd who is rediscovering cards? With more money to spend they might also help prop up the prices going forward.

These prices still don’t seem crazy low to me as much as current prices seem stupidly high.

That is crazy for 1980 wax boxes

I guess the 1980 cello and rack box I bought in 2015 was a smart move. They were hard to come by back then.
