OK...fair enough there Clarence Darrow. OP made an assumption that turned out to be erroneous, and that's on him... ...but by the same token, perhaps you need to be "accountable" when it comes to your:

At the end of the day, you misrepresented, to common sense, the condition of the coins. You don't seem to be willing to take responsibility for that. As to "not legally accountable for" crap.....no one said anything legal. Yes, you have a lack of common sense and, regrettably, that is still legally allowed. Too many people lack common sense and use it as an excuse when they screw others over. Yes, you showed a lack of judgment. I have no idea why anyone would knowingly deal with you after this. It isn't up to someone to PM to tell you what they want when YOU post a pic of an unc coin, state the rest are in similar condition, and only say they are all raw. It wasn't a rip anyway around. You can find unc silver roosies for just over a buck to a few bucks. It just isn't worth the time to try to "rip" these unless someone thought they were getting MS67FB or better on most (consider grading fees, etc).
You've done yourself no good by screwing around with your little word games, admitting you have no common sense but do have a lack of judgment. You are playing games by ignoring the facts as they have been laid out. The best thing you COULD have done, but it is kind of too late for that, would have been to admit you don't know what you are talking about when it comes to collecting coins, grades, and conditions, and to have refunded him (or come to a mutually agreeable solution in some other way), and just manned up all around.
I feel for Notsure for dealing with you in the first place. Seeing your posts over the years, I would NEVER knowingly deal with you, precisely because of the kind of thing that happened here. Just isn't worth the hassle or consternation that would likely result.

Yeah....but, at least it is out there so it is less likely someone else will get bitten by the same person for a larger amount in the future. To me, the $$$ is irrelevant, it's the actions taken and how one takes advantage of others.
I clearly shoulder partial blame in this matter, which I can easily accept. I'd just like the thieving seller to admit he isn't squeaky clean...I can admit my error, why can't you?? But, all we'll get is 'legal this, legal that' (did the shop you bought these from pull the old 'legal this, legal that' bit on YOU?). It's common knowledge there is NO kind of monitoring of the BST, there is nothing 'contractually binding', and that we all take our chances when entering into a transaction. I'm not really concerned about losing $7 (actually, not losing much at all, due to the intrinsic value of the absolute crap I received...all I got from this transaction is junk 90%). I'm just thankful that this lesson didn't cost me more. I guess no one should take any BST listing for granted. Looks like you should only deal with those that you trust. It also appears that there are a number of members here who already had 'not so good' opinions about this seller. If anything comes from this, it's that MORE members should be aware of this fruit cake.
I would just like to thank those of you who offered Roosies and Mercs for my album(s), and to replace the absolute crap that Colin (silverpop) sent to me. It DOES show what this forum is made of (for the most part)....great people. It's just too bad that there are a few who don't run with the pack. While I certainly appreciate the forum's generosity, I honestly can't accept anything from those who offered. It is my responsibility as a collector to KNOW what I am getting when paying for an item. I clearly did NOT do this. I can accept my blame, and I'll move on from here, unphased by it, but learning a very valuable lesson (the lesson was much more valuable than what I paid for it, just never thought I'd be one that would have a need to post about a BST gone bad). Just because someone has been here for a number of years, really doesn't say anything about their honesty or their ethics.
Thanks so much, again, to those of you who offered to send replacements for the goods this 'seller' didn't send (there were a few who offered more than what I originally bought, and to those members, 'Thank you!). It just goes to show that at the heart of this forum, there are very good people...it's when you get to the other body parts that you find those who have hidden agendas, those who are dishonest from 'go', and those who have nothing more than the intent on ripping off others.

Not brave enough to leave the comment you originally posted? You had to edit it half an our later? I'll refresh the original comment...you were waiting for someone to prove you weren't legally responsible. Why is it that you are sooo worried about not being 'legally' responsible??? (Hit back with all you have....there isn't that much to hit back with...and if that is a threat, all I can do is laugh!!! LOL!!). You saw an opening, and you jumped on it. Plain and simple. You are soooo worried about this, that you need to be legally safe? Big whoop!! THE BOTTOM LINE IS, YOU ARE NOT AN HONEST SELLER, THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE. Be legally safe with that, if it makes you feel better!! Your selling ethics have been brought to the surface....good luck selling anything in the future. But, there's solace, SILVERPOP, in the fact you are legally safe with a $7 for junk silver transaction! Good luck with your future BST listings.
No confusion. Simple. Silverpop has admitted he does things that a normal person would find to be untrustworthy actions and not in good faith. Pretty easy to see.
Why am I going to love this? I haven't loved ANY part of this transaction with you, since my first message to you inquiring about them. If I had ANY knowledge of your reputation, the reputation some here are already aware of, I wouldn't have entered into anything with you. As for a 'deal'?? I already asked you if I could return them because of the condition of the 5 you did NOT post images of, where I send the 'raw' Roosies back to you, and you send the check back to me. You said 'no' (putting it mildly). I thought that was that?
As for entering into ANOTHER 'deal' with you, the only 'deal' would be a flat out return of items, your (well, now MY) 6 Roosies, for my (well, now yours) check. I would enter into THAT 'deal' ONLY with the contingency that the Roosies are sent to you AFTER my receipt of the check. I'm not flexible on that. I don't think you need to worry about my NOT sending you the Roosies, as this is out in the open. I ship SIX (6) Roosies to you, one RAW UNC '62-P (stating UNC because RAW does NOT indicate condition), and 5 RAW CIRCULATED (again, stating CIRCULATED because RAW does NOT indicate condition...dates/mm are: 2 '51-P, 1 '53-S, 1 '54-P, 1 '54-S), AFTER I receive the check back from you. Remember, the contingency is: I ship the Roosevelt lot to you AFTER I receive my check back. I think it would be a good idea to accept this deal, with my one simple contingency. Colin, this is all over a lousy $7, and this all could have been avoided, if you had just said 'yes' to my first request to send them back for a refund. So, in YOUR words, Colin, 'the ball is in your court'. That's all I have to say.
For the last year or so I have been on this forum, I have always been completely puzzled by the lots offered for sale by member "silverpop". Right now he has pocket change for sale for 12 cents. It's 41 cents of change for 12 cents. How does one justify mailing that or mailing payment for that? Foreign coin lot also available for pocket change. I don't understand what the deal is with these lots. Both buyer and seller lose after paying for shipment of coins/check.

I had first assumed Silverpop's new BST post was a poor jab at this thread, but now I'm not so sure...

A seller's success on the BST does not rely on what is legal and what is not. It is dependent on his doing what is right.
Seller keeps talking about disputing the facts. Dispute this; you've got an unhappy buyer over a $7 transaction and your only concern is he has no legal claim. I suspect it's gonna cost you a lot more than $7 in the long run.
<< <i>I can't believe that I just wasted 10 minutes of my life by reading this thread.... All for a measly $7 bullion transaction? Who gives a rats ars as to who struck who. >>
First off, it didn't BEGIN as a 'bullion transaction'..it BEGAN as a transaction where I could finish up my Roosie Dansco, so it was a little more than a 'bullion transaction' (who the hell is going to go for 6 Roosies as a 'bullion transaction??? I'm not even sure the seller would have listed such a small amount of 'bullion'...and, how many 'bullion transactions', for $7, do you see?? I'll agree, it COULD be all for nothing...BUT, I was merely trying to show there COULD have been a PROBLEM BST seller (if you'll notice, in my first sentence, I even stated I was looking for opinions before I placed blame on him...and there is ALSO blame I have to shoulder). It wasn't about the money...it was to get opinions to see if I DID have a right to expose a possible problem BST seller. If you'd rather not find out there could be another problem seller, just move on...I sincerely apologize for wasting your valuable time (ask timbuk3, among others, if he'd like to know there is another seller to avoid, then ask him if he would have liked to know if 'silvereagles' was a problem seller...).
jclovescoins, you state that, after shipping and mailing payment, it's not justified. Well, for a postage stamp, an envelope, and a check for $7 and change (I do not believe any of the $7+ was for shipping), I could fill the remaining slots in my Roosie Dansco.....well, where I stand, it was completely justifiable for me to mail a check. At the very least, as one/some posters have mentioned, I really didn't take much of a shave/ loss, after you factor in the intrinsic value.
