Does anybody either recognize or know if this 1921 Peace Dollar (Counter Stamped 19 1922 on the reverse), has any historical or numismatic significance (i.e. was it perhaps counter stamped by the US Mint)?

Thanks in advance for any information that you may be able to provide.

    Stuart,
There may be information on this in Roger Burdette's book on Peace Dollars.

He is also on the NGC Coin Forum if you want to contact him about this.

I have never seen one stamped in that manner.... have not heard of the mint stamping coins, but Roger B. would be the expert in that area. Let us know what you find... Cheers, RickO
