Not that it matters. I have never bought a piece of properly graded early or middle U.S. copper for Gray Sheet bid in my entire life. The numbers are all too low, WAY too low.
That goes double for something like 1823/2 cent which virtually impossible to find in an attractive straight grade. It's one of those dates that discourages me from forming a date set of large cents. You can't even find them at the EAC conventions.
But if you are planning on shopping for one and using these as a guide, you may be disappointed.
I'm fairly price conscious, and I paid ~$700 for my VF+ from my wholesale friend some years back, and that was a pretty good deal.
Lo and behold, a month or so later he shows up with another one, and this one he had on consignment and priced it to me at $450....I didn't need it,
but couldn't pass it up.
PS - the 1823 N2 (regular date) is quite a bit tougher than the N1 overdate.....now if you can find THAT coin anywhere near Bid, please mark it up and offer it to me!
