eBay Fake Coin purchase

A couple of months ago I purchased 3 Ancient silver coins on eBay; all less than $65 each. I know almost nothing about Ancient coins, but they looked very interesting so I thought I would explore it a bit. Two of the 3 coins were from the same seller.
I sent the coins in to NGC for grading, more just to verify what I had purchased. Two of the three coins came back body bagged as "Not Genuine"- the 2 from the same seller. It's been about 10 weeks since the purchase; I contacted the seller about a return- he said no.
Does anyone know if the eBay Guarantee would cover me in this situation (receiving fake merchandise) or am I just screwed? Is there any point in me contacting eBay or would I just be wasting my time?

If anything, it's a bad place to sell as Ebay has structured their 'guarantees' in strong favor for the buyer.
I predominantly sell on Ebay, but good thing I've been doing so for over 10 years, as I have a strong following of regular clients that I can depend on safe, hassle-free transactions.
Perhaps if I just started as a seller I may be hesitant about listing on Ebay.
I've also made a bunch of great purchases over the years that have been super.
Throw in one or two purchases that have turned out to be 'trouble' (fake or improperly listed or totally over-graded) yet I have had trouble free returns.
Ebay, in my opinion, is much better than any auction, coin show or dealer anywhere.

This. Do a chargeback through your credit card company if PayPal/eBay aren't cooperative.

Correct advice. I went through a similar experience a couple of month ago. Ebay guarantee covers you for 30 days. Paypal its either 3 or 6 months (dont remember) I filed a case with paypal a couple of months after the fact, and literally within minutes Paypal decided in my favor.
Only odd thing about it was Paypal made me return coin and pay return postage. I probably could have argued that one, but didnt.
This dealer sells a lot of Ancient coins on eBay; who knows how many are fake? Perhaps Ancient coins is an area I need to steer clear of; I have no knowledge to tell authentic from fakes. It strikes me as a very complex field!
Thanks for all the great advice here!
<< <i>I can't go the Credit Card route- it's been a little over 60 days. I just filed at the resolution center at PayPal; we'll see how that goes.

Ancient coins have been faked for over a thousand years and some of the fakes are so good that they fool the experts. As you have noticed, it is a complex field.
