Might as well bump this "Good Dealer Experience" thread, since the "Bad Dealer Experience" one is likely to get so much more action.

My most recent was with Coin Kingdom, LLC. I've bought from their VCoins store a few times. Pretty nice selection, good pictures, and realistic/reasonable pricing.

Just last week I had a local buddy who wanted a colonial 8-reales piece. Nothing too expensive- just the more common portrait type, for under $100. He wanted it for a gift to mount in a necklace. By the weekend, which was only three or four days away.

After browsing eBay BINs and finding everything there either too nasty or overpriced (or both), I found a suitable example in their store, pulled the trigger, and had it within two days, without having to pay extra. image

PS- T.O.- I like your new Indian gold avatar, but it's not as unique as the groovy old blue one you had.

(My own new avatar is just a temporary switch for a while, since I get tired of my default "Holey Hat Icon" sometimes, though I always go back to it eventually.)

As much kvetching and moaning as is heard, it is worth remembering that the great majority of coin transactions via any venue (coin shows, dealer websites, even eBay) go through without a hitch.

You should be booted from here for a positive thread ! image Later today I will share my positive experience , and thank you for making this whole forum positive .

I think people look for positivity to be the norm and they should. The norm isn't something that would get commented on since it's expected.

Glad it was a simple and successful checkout. image

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I have had countless positive dealer experiences...both in person and online. Far too many to count. The VERY few negatives, in the distant past, are just not worth dwelling upon. I really like the BST here as well.... Cheers, RickO

I can't remember my last bad experience. More than a decade ago, I think. Even returns and refunds have gone well.

It's always great to hear good news from a transaction that was a positive experience.

You may want to post the dealer's name to give them credit for providing you with a smooth problem-free transaction.

Had an outstanding transaction with Brian Timmons from Harbor Coins , they gave me more than fair prices on my trades , and their layaway terms helped me to finally aquire a 1911-D (strong D) $2.5 Indian for my 6 years and counting xf45 set .

I had a great transaction with Tom Jensen of Scottsdale, Arizona. The coin is graded PCGS AU 55. The luster is subdued with a way above average strike for this date. Nice head detail, full shield rivets and a well struck breast. I have been watching for this date for many years. Payment was made, shipping was fast and images matched the coin. Perfect.

I had 3 transactions with those guys on 3 type coins worth approx $2500 total. They got 3 negs from me. All depends on one's point of view. They have at least 5 separate ID's on ebay (Harbor Coin, Harbor Coin1, Harbor Coin2, BrianTimmons and BrianTimmons1). Glad your transaction with HC worked out ok....face to face is always preferred vs. on-line.

Rick Snow is pleasant to deal with and has great coins, what more could you ask?

Roadrunner You should call Brian. He is an upstanding guy, more than 99.99% of dealers.

I'm guessing that he would make whatever right. You story doesn't add up with the dealings I've had with them over an extended period of time.

Other people here have had unpleasant dealings with them documented here. No doubt there have been numerous satisfactory ones too. The irony of my situation is that after Harbor got me for a couple hundred bucks in two auctions occurring at the same time I made sure not to ever bid again. But I didn't realize who Brian Timmons was and bid in a 3rd auction under that ID a few months later (not Harbor Coin). They nailed me again. Face-to-face deals at the B&M or at a show can be totally different than what happens on line.

Can you post thread, either my search don't work or threads may be too old. I am getting nothing.

I bought mine off their web sight and dealt with them by phone.

Maybe they changed since you dealt with them. Their EBay auctions now will provide more photos on request and a 14 day return policy.

Curious as to how did you got nailed when you placed a bid in their auction?
