Gold coins for 2016.

There is something familiar with these designs. I like the idea. I hope the mint's designers/engravers can be faithful to the originals.

The "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" design process.

Some designs render best in silver.
    Don't appeal to me.

I could see being into these. What wouldn't look better in gold? Who wouldn't love a big ol gold buffalo nickel? And these are going to be fractional gold so hopefully more affordable, unless they go the way of the gold buffalo fractionals that get run up.

I read this article some time ago. I think that it is way cool. I bet that it will be just as popular as the Kennedys, if not more so. The flippers will be hard at work, no doubt. I wonder if it will impact prices for the originals? I bet it will. Very excited, in any event.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Beautiful designs, of course. And I expect we'll come to find them equally beautiful in gold, once, like the buff, we get used to them.

Again, though, I worry about the Mint wearing us out with all of their special issues, and eventually killing the golden goose.

The dime and quarter need a different placement of the gold content

    Some of my thoughts:

Overall, I like the concept, and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished products.
I prefer the gold content over platinum or silver, however, silver coins would be much more affordable. Both gold and silver versions would solve that problem.
It looks like they're going to faithfully copy the 1916 quarter. The unique, subtle detail of the 1916 sets it apart from the 1917 type 1 quarters.
