Sharing the talents of one of my customers, coin paintings.

One of my customers is a retired Air Force pilot and paints in his spare time. His favorite things to paint are coins and airplanes, here are some that he's done for us that we have hanging in the shop. These are crappy iphone pictures that truly don't do them justice!

    That's talent right there!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

That's a special talent, especially to capture the look of the light on the surface of the coins, which I'm sure some will question as AT. I couldn't even draw a decent circle to start it all. Thanks for sharing them.

I would not be surprised that after seeing this, our host does not try and buy that first one. It belongs in their offices!

Amazing talent. Those are beautiful. Looks so real, like a print of a photo but better since you know it was done by hand.

Does he ever sell any and what are the prices?

He does sell some of his work but he prefers to trade for coins. I think we gave him a $10 Lib and a couple common date GSA's for the second painting and VF/XF $20 Libs for the first and third.

These particular paintings aren't for sale but he does sell some of his work. I had him do a portrait of me because I just graduated from college this year. I traded him a $20 Lib for this one too.

The OP is the only student I have ever kicked out of my grading class at Summer Seminar . . . . image

    Over-qualified . . . . image

    Subsequently he interned at Heritage.

Then, to the surprise of many, he took to life on the streets. It wasn't pretty. . . . . imageimage

On the other hand, I think he made enough doing laps around the Chicago Convention Center to pay for his last semester in school.

My icon is an original. It may not look hard to paint, until you try it. I had to convince the artist to stick with the project. Gave him a pl morgan in an NGC holder to use as his model.
