No glamour shots here. Just turn on the light, point and shoot baby! She has 12 inch mirrors. I caught a glimpse of myself in them and was not happy!

Looking at that, first word out of my mouth was WHOA!

That is pretty, almost too pretty. Is it real?

Amazing! It is hard to avoid having finger reflections in the photos when taking pics of DMPL coins. This one looks like a 66+ to me.

    amazing example...wow
makes me wonder being they are forgiving with "CC" morgans ....just what this will grade
they should give a + in whatever grade they settle on
    just because

    congrats
are we to see a new avatar in the future once this gets a glamour shot

That coin looks terrific! At least 65 maybe 66, or so it appears from your pics. Where'd you find that one hiding? image

Appears to be in 64/65 dmpl condition, and a frosty sucker too. Crazy to think this was struck to be used in the channels of commerce, now we covet and cherish these hunks of shinny silver.
That thin pin scratch, distracting in hand? Appears to be minimal. Very nice overall, I'm jealous.

EDIT: I would be willing to image it for nothing, completely understand if you decline.

It's hard to believe a GSA Morgan survived being in a bag in that state of preservation

WOW!!! At first glance I thought it must be one of those cheap modern reproductions.

Considering the skip-scuff line on the cheek, scuff on the neck under the jaw and the bright-metal impacts on the breast:

Many people would be gratified to see that grade out as 65+DMPL. Quite a few would happily pay way over 66DMPL money for the richness of cameo and depth of mirrors.

None of this guaranteed without in-hand, but, from here, $1000 looks stupid stupid cheap..

Very nice looking coin from his picture. How did you come up with that $1000 price, you sell it to him?

If someone actually sold that for $1,000, they gave it away.

They did a nice job repolishing that tired die. I agree with the colonel 65+ due to the depth of mirrors. Pcgs is pretty forgiving on frost breaks with Carson city dollars. I don't think the pin marks will discount it. Nice piece from the photos.image

    simple question here...well maybe not
    image

i seem to recall that they are forgiving with CC dollars on grades
    how about the higher grades
do they carry that forgiving nature into lofty grades?

Thanks for the comments. Based on my past experience with GSA DMPL CC coins, I would be disappointed with anything less than a 66. I think it is 66+. Keep in mind I blasted a white light at it and posted a giant picture. By my crude calculations, the above image is the equivalent of looking at the coin with an 8X loupe. (On my monitor anyway)

I'll send it in and let you all know. I am undecided as to where it is going. The NGC folks need this baby to try and take down that GSA King over there who has both top sets in the registry. I might go NGC for the fun of it. I have used the new PCGS GSA cases for my last 10 or so GSA coins so maybe time for an experiment.

Also, it arrived in the original shipping box with the shipping label still attached. 1973.
